She cuts

the waves so

fine & the

sea breathes long

grass stilled &



You could stray in a sea of wheat

all day if there’s nothing more

or walk behind the street

an ear for the waves of her

  1. thanks Peter. Formatting issues here. The original makes use of the wide page, the white space. & the last 2 lines make no sense: you’re supposed to read ‘as she goes’ forward & backwards, & those words are laid out in a sort of triangle/flying formation, which looks real nice on the page. never mind. Our lady of the winds afoot? true -these are windy lines 🙂
